Job Description
Mobile Applications Analytics Start-Up
DevOps Engineer-Infrastructure
Responsibilities:
o Work with the engineering team to configure, support and improve the
infrastructure of our Big Data platform
o Be the primary owner of our Big Data infrastructure and address
infrastructure issues as they arise
o *Be the primary owner of our Jenkins infrastructure used for
Continuous Delivery and address infrastructure issues as they arise*
o Be the primary owner of our Prometheus-based monitoring infrastructure
o *Be the primary owner of our configuration management infrastructure
(Chef)*
o Write and maintain infrastructure SOP documentation for the overnight
NOC administrator
o Participate in the DevOps agile development sprints
o Practice an "infrastructure as code " approach to system management
Required Skills:
o *Proficiency with configuration management software such as Chef
(preferred), Puppet and Ansible*
o *Proficiency with large distributed datastore systems like Cassandra,
MongoDB, Elastic Search and RDBMS such as Postgres*
o Proficiency with load balancers at scale such as NGINX, ELB or HA
Proxy.
o Experience with monitoring large infrastructures using tool such as
Prometheus, Graphite and Nagios
o Experience with Jenkins administration (or similar)
o Experience with distributed UNIX systems administration
o Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
o BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work
experience
Desired Skills:
o Experience with Amazon Web Services, autoscaling and infrastructure
templating (Cloud Formation or Terraform)
o Proficiency in scripting using Python or Ruby
o Experience working with developers, using configuration management to
deploy new services
o Experience with distributed message queueing systems like Kafka or
RabbitMQ
o Experience managing Docker containers
