*Role:**Technical Architect/Senior Technical Lead*
*Location: Greenville, SC
Duration: 12 months +*



a)      He/she will become the technical authority on a subset of critical
B2B applications and supporting hardware and software infrastructures that
handle commercial transactions between Business’s client and its business
partners and customers.



This role will involve the selection and specification of appropriate
system, application and integration architectures needed to meet functional,
performance (response time, transaction throughput and concurrent users),
and security (including PCI-DSS), requirements. The Technical
Architect/Senior Technical Lead will develop a detailed knowledge of the B2B
application inner-workings sufficient to effectively guide development teams
and isolate the source of run-time problems in support.



b)      He/she will be the “Troubleshooting Director” on Business’s client’s
B2B systems - the lead resource at the focal point of troubleshooting
efforts who will marshal, orchestrate and direct other troubleshooting
resources and activities across all teams necessary to efficiently and
rapidly resolve high-severity incidents and outages affecting B2B
application users or business transactions.



This role will be active in support of the entire B2B ecosystem on a 24 x 7
callout basis for high-severity incidents, and will involve leading other
senior technical experts and personnel including those of the client or
other suppliers to the client.

The Technical Architect/Senior Technical Lead is likely to spend about 50%
of his/her time on application development projects and 50% on application
support (troubleshooting, RCA, change management validation, environment
maintenance or improvement initiatives).


Key to both roles will be the ability to work and interact effectively
across parties:

·         With multiple teams in different tracks and onshore/offshore
locations to deliver proofs-of-concept, assist with code development and
provide level 3 support services

·         With technical architects to define technology approaches
encompassing multiple systems and integration points

·         With system and network administrators to manage collaborative
application deployments

·         With delivery and project managers to identify, estimate and
prioritize work, and resolve issues.


Skills and Experience:

*·         Overall technical work experience of 12+ years*

*·         8-10 years work experience leading development / support teams
working with J2EE / Portal and integration (EAI, ETL) technologies*

*·         Experience of developing and maintaining large scale J2EE based
e-commerce applications through entire development life cycle*

*·         Experience of performance testing and tuning of J2EE / Portal and
legacy applications*

*·         Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially in a complex
application stack*

*·         Ability to understand network issues*

*·         Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility,
in a fast-paced, deadline-driven issue resolution environment*

*·         Detail-oriented, organized, with strong writing and communication
skills*

*·         Willingness to mentor junior technical resources and other team
members*

*·         Knowledge of IBM integration products e.g. WMB, WPG, WPS,
MQSeries*

*·         Knowledge of methods to integrate existing applications into
Portal*

*·         J2EE architecture, MVC frameworks, SOAP, JAVA, RAD/RSA, LDAP*

*·         WebSphere Portal 6.X, WebSphere Application Server 6.x/7.x, IBM
HTTP Server*

*·         IBM WebSphere Portal components including WebSphere Portlet
Factory, WCM, PDM, WMM, Personalization, Themes/Skins, Portlet Wiring,
Access Control, SSO. etc.*

*·         J2EE / Enterprise Design Patterns*

*·         AJAX, DHTML, JSP, JMS, JNDI, EJBs, JDBC, SOAP, Webservices, JMS,
Servlets, Python/JACL*

*·         Oracle 10/11g, DB2, UDB, PL/SQL*

*·         Novell eDirectory*

*·         UNIX (preferably AIX), LINUX, Windows OS*

*·         Clearcase, Subversion*
