Job Title : Desktop Engineer Location : Benton Harbor- MI Duration : 3 + Months Responsibilities: Software Standards · Weekly review the requests that come in through the software nomination request intake process with the Global Software Asset team · Complete basic research on what the software is and offer opinion on what should be the next steps toward approval. · Assist in updating the software standards list (if approved). If not approved, document the reasons. · Maintain the PC Software corporate library for both physical install media and electronic install media PC Hardware Standards and Exceptions · Review the requests that come in through email and Service Now requests. · Talk with the individuals requesting and find the basic why for the request. · Determine based on the Why how this could be accomplished within the existing standards and if not what is need. (CPU,Memory,Card,Disk,form factor, etc...) · Work with HW vendors to define and get pricing for the requester. · If approved work with Asset Management to order · If manual image is needed work with PC Engineer and Deskside Support to load · Follow up on the request to validate that the solution is meeting the request Other items · Assist in testing and supporting OS images and issues that arise · Work on team related projects and audits · Maintain KB articles related to PC Engineering · RU 165 SME · Research other OS's and settings (Linux, OS X, IOS, Android) Why we are filling this position To support the Drive to Five program work - Specifically the software request priority 1 worksteam MUST have skills in a candidate (5 years) · PC trouble shooting · Software trouble shooting · Ability to research and synthesize solutions for problems around PC Hardware or PC Software · Computer knowledge required to perform duties · Windows 7 and Windows 10 · Chrome and Chrome OS Education requirements College degree Years of experience required Minimum 5 years of experience Thanks, Arjun D -Sr Executive Recruiter Sonoma Consulting, Inc.
