We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity for an *Configuration Manager *position that will be based out in *Benton Harbor, MI*. *Job Title: Configuration Manager* *Location: Benton Harbor, MI* *Duration: 12 – 18 Months* Client is looking for a skilled professional to perform as a Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) Manager. Our client is looking for a solid individual for 12-18 months to train and guide existing staff and help them develop into this role in the future. This controlled environment effectively captures and manages IT asset information, supports an effective CMDB and provides value-added services that improve organizational capabilities, manage risks, lower costs, and increase productivity. *Responsibilities * Strategy & Planning · Lead efforts in establishing processes, policies and procedures for tracking the company's hardware assets and their configuration. · Help define, implement and integrate Configuration Management policies and procedures to support the configuration management database (CMDB). · Review and establish Configuration Management audit policies to meet established requirements. *Operational Management * · Perform Configuration Management activities relating to identification, control and tracking of designated systems and/or equipment. · Interface with department personnel to ensure new systems/services are compliant with IT Configuration Management policy. · Enter all configuration data into CMDB and ensure information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable. · In meeting these responsibilities and accountabilities, you will: · Interface with and coordinate with other ITIL Process teams in the organization to include Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Capacity Management and Release Management. · Engage the Global Partner and Whirlpool teams in the establishment and execution of standard processes for life cycle management of the hardware assets, help create strong relationships with partner teams and ensure that a process of continuous review and improvement are inherent throughout all elements of the IOS team. · Establish partner performance measures and generate standard monthly regional scorecards and metric reports. · What You Need to Succeed · Formal Education & Certification · University degree or college diploma in the field of business, finance or technology management or expert level experience in the field of IT Asset Management, Configuration Management or Inventory Control. *Knowledge & Experience * · 5 years direct work experience in IT Configuration Management · Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems. · Strong knowledge of information technology change and configuration management best practices and methodologies *The successful candidate must have a proven record with the following experience: * · Ability to quickly establish ownership of areas of accountability · Partners with customers, vendors, and cross functional groups · Has demonstrated experience and competence in a complex Global Asset Environment. · Lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner and has strong ability to clearly document process design elements · Fosters open dialogue and always maintains two-way dialogue with others on work and results · Is customer focused and demonstrates integrity and fosters trust · Has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical subjects to non- technical audiences This experience demonstrates the required skills in thought leadership, communication, team building, personal confidence, and establishing yourself as a driver of change that this position requires.
