*Job Role: Server / Storage Administrator L2, L3 (8+ Years’ Experience)* *Location: Remote after 1 Month in Irvine, CA * *Duration: 6 Months* *Job Description:* *Required:* Strong interpersonal skills featuring an ability to contribute as part of a team combined with a strong desire to provide excellent service. Demonstrated experience installing and configuring computer and network hardware in a data center computing environment. Knowledge of system and network security best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people both verbally and in writing. Skill in writing concise, understandable, technical documentation. Ability to design, write, test and debug computer programs, command language scripts and application control files; experience in same. A working knowledge of high-level programming or scripting languages, especially PowerShell and ServiceNow Javascript. A working knowledge of database design, use and query languages, especially the ServiceNow CMDB. A working knowledge of VMware and/or Amazon Web Services. Knowledge of current system administration best practices. Demonstrated experience using IP-based tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, or dig, to troubleshoot and correct system or network problems. Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people as an individual contributor and as a team member to achieve the goals of the department. *Desired:* Direct experience working in a large, academic computing environment. Knowledge of the UCI campus network and computing infrastructure. Significant programming experience with PowerShell and ServiceNow. Knowledge of and experience with web programming and SOAP. Experience with file backup applications such as Legato Networker and Veeam. Knowledge of and experience with enterprise-level storage solutions, including hardware and software from Network Appliance and Data Domain. Experience making presentations to groups: conducting workshops, presenting projects, and managing meetings.
