Please find below JD and let me know your interest Position: Java Developer Client: STONE Resource Group (End Client: Echostar) Location: Englewood, Colorado Duration: 6 Month contract to hire -Experience in a true Agile environment - Min of 5 years experience - Java, Webservices, python - Scala would be a HUGE plus! H1b accepted- must have very good communication *Job Description:* · Develop full stack solutions using primarily Scala and Python on Unix and Linux around Oracle and Mongo · Participate in the Daily Scrum with the Scrum Master and the Agile Development Team · Work with the Product Owner to write User Stories that ensure robustness, redundancy, and scalability · Contribute to the Emergent Architecture that identifies problems and solves them · Design and write software in a functional style combined with object-oriented techniques · Write and execute unit tests and automated acceptance tests · Continually integrate code to a common team trunk and continually deploy to a production system · Research, design, and prototype with Spikes and Refactor Stories · Promote teamwork and collaboration by participating in paired programming and code reviews · Participate in retrospective discussions to help continuously improve our methods · Innovate by enthusiastically participating in Innovation Day and patent harvesting activities · Help identify and troubleshoot complex production issues in the customer-facing environment · Continually populate a team knowledge repository with design summaries, takeaways, techniques, and tutorials *They will be working with a dev team of 25 engineers*. They’re not building any customer facing apps. Apps are more internal facing customers, people within EchoStar, building more of the back end services. They want someone with 5 years MINIMUM of experience working with python, java and scala is a HUGE plus. If they have some exposure to Scala that’s what they’re looking for but they need to understand core concepts of what functional programming is. They encourage their folks to learn new technologies so we need someone eager to learn and is good working with a team.
