Please revert me back if you feel comfortable for below position. *Role: Java Developer* *Location: Arlington, VA* *Need only locals* Description Our client is seeking a senior Java Developer with a minimum 6 years of Java development experience who can develop high availability data driven web applications in Java-based technologies. Candidate will design, develop the application, and provide maintenance activities including functionality enhancement, modification, update, bug fix and reports. Ideal candidate will have strong programming experience and expertise in converting user requirements into cohesive design, applying design patterns to implementation, applying industry best practices into daily development, and also have excellent written and oral communication skills. Should be comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies including mobile computing platform. Duties and Responsibilities: Design and develop applications. Translate design to code and perform unit test on the developed code and applications. Perform requirements analysis. Assist in collecting and documenting customer requirements. Participating team design activities. Provide suggestions on system design configurations, business process design. Develop web applications on Java-based platform. Coding using advanced Object Oriented patterns and frameworks. Write test cases. Perform code reviews. Participate in all aspects of application lifecycle from inception through design, programming, testing, documentation review and assisting with customer support. Generate reports according to end user requirement. Customizing report to meet customers’ expectations. Quality control exported data to ensure accuracy of the reports. Analyzes and recommends methods of improving the efficiency of existing programs. Determines system requirements. Performs data modeling and establishes databases. Writes procedural guidance to be followed by users. Maintains files records and operational data and prepares periodic and/or special reports and various other documents pertaining to assignments. Provide configuration management in the development environment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education / Experience Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or engineering, Math, Physics etc. and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of Java and Java-based frameworks. Including, but not limited to, Struts, iBatis, Hibernate, Spring.. Experience with creating data driven web applications, n-tier architecture based applications, enterprise architecture applications, writing user controls, and web controls. Experience using WebLogic and Oracle database. Working knowledge of common Object-Oriented design patterns, best practices, as well as common frameworks. Experience with web application related technologies, HTML/XML, Ajax, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, CMS, Flash, HTML5. Experience working with relational databases, including Oracle, My SQL. Experience with creating web services as well as web service clients. Experience using source code version control software. SVN is preferred. Understanding of industry best practices for development process, documentation and SDLC. Mobile platform development experience is a plus.. Familiar with Agile development methodology and concepts.
