Assists in business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Identifies business, operational and technical tasks, scope, time constraints and task interdependencies. Responsible for end-to-end ownership of projects and project planning activities in area of expertise. Reviews test plans and results. Assists with the resolution of test incidents. Reports on project status and impact analysis on an ongoing basis. Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business area to resolve problems on an ongoing business. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Functions as a Lead Business Analyst on large projects. May have responsibility for a team of Business Analysts, and is responsible for providing guidance, direction, feedback and coaching to ensure team effectiveness. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 8+ years of successful business analysis experience including writing business requirements • Experience in the software development methodology lifecycle - including business planning, data analysis, process analysis and design; business, functional, and non-functional requirements analysis, use case analysis, system design, development, testing, and implementation • Experience working in and/or leading dynamic cross-system teams using a structured project methodology • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to produce concise, clear and complete requirements documentation. • Ability to clearly articulate the system solution to all business partners and IT partners. • Experience facilitating meetings with large groups of business and IT representatives required. • Experience supporting large projects and concurrent projects required. • Strong problem solving skills to identify and help project team find solutions to issues. • Demonstrate the ability to seek alternatives, new ideas, and/or approaches to problems. • Strong interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders. • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between various applications and systems. • Motivate others and provide innovative solutions for team improvement. • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Tools. • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. • Experience in working on projects with multiple Business Analysts • Ability to understand, conceptualize, and depict system solutions that span multiple systems • Ability to identify, document, and facilitate resolution of business/functional issues that cross multiple systems or platforms • Ability to develop a strong alliance with the Enterprise Project Manager, raising and resolving issues • Provide guidance, transfer information to the individual platform Business Analysts • Support the Solution Architect in defining the solution and communicating to the application teams. Be the focal point for the desired business solution for all IS groups. • Ability to clearly articulate the system solution to all business partners and application Business Analysts • Ability to facilitate meetings with business and IS people, over phone using web conferencing with large number of people • Ability to support Enterprise Test phase of the project • 5+ years experience developing Use Cases using a software development methodology • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, assess risk, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements • Reasoning and decision-making skills, to determine and recommend solution alternatives that satisfy requirements while also meeting aggressive schedules and budgets • Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation workshops • Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation • Writing and Verbal skills with a meticulous attention to detail, to communicate information effectively to customers, managers, and technical staff • Organizational skills, to work in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects and tasks concurrently, while also working with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, project management, and technical staff) • Modeling skills, to represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language EDUCATION Bachelor Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred.
