*Contract* *Required Skills:* This resource can sit in Boca Raton, Florida OR Irving, Texas *Experience:* - 12+ years of Oracle DB Admin - 5+ years of experience in Oracle DB Performance tuning and trouble-shooting experience - 5+ years with Oracle RAC, - 2+ years with Exadata is desirable - Strong interpersonal, presentation, problem solving, client-facing, and organizational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills *Basic Qualifications:* · This client is looking for a Database Engineer. The majority of this role will be in Production Support but the resource will also need to be able to drill down into highly complex issues and produce solutions to those issues independently. · The majority of the environment is 12c and 11g (12c experience is mandatory) · This resource will be responsible for supporting several environments, small to very large 10 - 20 Terabytes. · Exadata is highly desirable but won't be a deal breaker · This is a clustered environment and the resource needs to have multi-node exp. · Golden Gate and Solarwinds are not required. Is a team player, possesses a solutions-oriented approach and high work ethic with excellent communication and process management skills. *Primary Job Responsibilities*: - Ensure enterprise database environments are in optimal condition, manage production databases, and lead designing solution for complex problem-solving challenges. - Drive the development of policies and procedures by utilizing best practices and technologies to maximize database performance and efficiency. - Engage in effective physical compute and data storage allocation and usage to facilitate the data growth as well as resource consumption in exceeding performance SLAs. - Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. - Drive the development and communication of long-term strategic goals for the database environments to meet existing and future business needs. - Work with application development staff to establish appropriate end-user database access control levels and develop routines for end-users to facilitate best practices database use and facilitating better DB performance - Increase and enhance existing knowledge base with the database group by conducting researches and training to make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. - Support of production and non-production systems/DBs and new deployment. Support and implement high availability DB environment - Oracle RAC 11g/12c, ASM, Oracle Data Guard, OEM, Ignite/SolarWinds, and Golden Gate. - On-call support rotation.
