Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. We
accelerate better design through an unparalleled depth of experience and a
broad portfolio of software to give customers the power to solve their
design, business, and environmental challenges. In addition to designers,
architects, engineers, and media and entertainment professionals, Autodesk
helps students, educators, and casual creators unlock their creative ideas
through user-friendly applications.

The Role
The Autodesk Business Models & Systems User Experience Design team is
looking for someone who is passionate about human-centered design and has a
proven track record leading research projects with cross-functional teams.

You will partner with business owners, engineers, and other user experience
designers not just within our group but also across the larger organization
to create outstanding experiences that support new and ongoing business
models as we introduce changes in how we do business with our customers.

Your Responsibilities
• Design, conduct, analyze, and present research in a fast-paced software
development environment, from early strategic direction through
post-release validation.
• Employ a wide range of research methods including strategic design
research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, formative
and summative usability studies, analytics and UX metrics, and customer
advisory councils.
• Lead research projects with cross-functional stakeholders including
designers, product managers, and engineers, ensuring that all stakeholders
participate in the research and experience customer insights.
• Lead internal design thinking and visioning workshops to translate
customer insights into product direction.
• Track, communicate, and evangelize insights, goals and metrics to project
teams and senior leadership.

How You’d Spend Your Day
• Designing and executing research in a fast-paced environment, using
research methods that might include contextual inquiry, formative and
summative usability studies, analytics analysis, lightweight surveys, and
discussions on user forums.
• Translating research findings and insights into actionable product
recommendations and direction.
• Collaborating with product teams, including designers, product managers,
and engineers, to achieve product experiences that meet demanding quality
standards and leverage emerging technologies.
• Sharing customer insights, goals, and metrics with project teams and
leadership in creative ways to increase customer empathy, including
posters, internal blog posts, workshops, and compelling presentations.

Top 4 Signs That You’re a Strong Candidate
• You’re a born researcher. You’ve got an inquisitive mind, natural empathy
for users, and you love translating fuzzy research questions into a clear
research plan and then executing on it in a fast-paced environment.
• You’re a team player. You don’t like to go off and conduct research and
analysis on your own; you’re a natural collaborator and enjoy bringing your
team of stakeholders along with you to talk to and observe users, and
analyze findings together.
• You’re an excellent communicator. You pride yourself on your clear verbal
and written communication, and your ability to share and evangelize
