Please send resume to [email protected] Title: Sr. Oracle DBA Location: Merrimack, NH Duration12+ month contract Face to face required We are looking for a Oracle Database Administrator on behalf of our client. *Purpose & Objective: * To participate in the management and maintenance of Database Systems within a multi-database client server environment. *Primary Responsibilities: * Installation, upgrade, security patching, and maintenance of database servers. Implementation and/or development of database management tools (backup/recovery, monitoring, reporting, database/server installation, etc.). Ongoing maintenance of same. Installation, upgrade, and maintenance of database client software. Assist with the specifications and requirements for determining hardware requirements to support databases. Assist with changes to the hardware or O/S on database servers. Assist development areas with performance and tuning (database parameters, indexes, and SQL code). Troubleshoot server and database problems to maximize database availability. Work with user groups, systems administration and operations to insure operational readiness of environment including backup and recovery, high availability, and D/R. Develop migration plans for upgrades involving database servers. Provide on-call database management technical support for all supported DBMS's (Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Sybase). Review database designs, SQL code, and database option usage. Help establish and document database management procedures, standards, technical information, and guidelines. This person will be on call on a rotating basis including weekend hours. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 6 or more years Database Administration experience with Oracle. Some exposure to Sybase or MS SQL Server is desired Experience with native replication tools At least 2 years experience in Unix and working knowledge of Unix scripting languages (e.g. PERL, shell programming).
