*****Immediately Needed A Consultant***** - SQL DBA / Dev – Location: NYC Length:6months This position is a mix of SQL Developer and DBA. Our E-commerce client has a contract opening for a SQL Developer / DBA in NYC, NY. I have included the job description below. DBA Consultant DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, development, review, and administer all databases, database jobs, packages, stored procedures, and calling interfaces to support and sustain the reliability, integrity, and scalability of production and mission-critical e-commerce applications, environments, and infrastructure. must have some .net experience as well. Review and recommend database and system-level optimization techniques and procedures Recommend database approaches and design to engineering staff Work closely with application development, network engineering, QA, and project management teams Scope and estimate any functional requirements requiring database interaction Plan all modifications and rollouts to data tiers. Monitor and respond to all database jobs and activity Monitor and respond to all database performance and scalability issues Plan and implement load-level testing on the data tier Install SQL Server databases, services, patches, and/or hot fixes Respond to production and/or mission-critical issues and needs on 24/7 basis MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: SQL Server 2005 database design and administration within a high volume, transaction-oriented web environment Experience in SSIS Experience in SQL Server database clustering Experience in SQL data modeling and design Expert knowledge Transact SQL (T SQL) Good knowledge of relational databases (concepts and constructs) Knowledge of distributed architecture and design Thorough knowledge of data backup, recovery, and rollback planning/implementation Proficiency in SQL Server 2005 optimization, fine-tuning, and scalability techniques Thorough knowledge of data security issues Strong knowledge of network architecture and topology Thanks & Regards, HARRY WILSON | IT Technical Recruiter *CAT Technology Inc.
