*****Immediately Needed A Consultant***** * Title: Infrastructure Quality Engineer(QA TESTER) FACE TO FACE REQUIRED AFTER TELEPHONIC ROUND Location: Redwood City, CA Term: 9+ Month Contract * POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Quality Engineering team, the Senior Quality Engineer – IT Infrastructure Services will coordinate all quality initiatives and activities for IT Infrastructure Services and system application releases. The Senior Quality Engineer – IT Infrastructure Services will participate in all phases of the solution implementation lifecycle and will work extensively with the Systems Engineering and Software Engineering teams to document system requirements, quality strategy and test cases; drive system, application and user testing; report issues and defects; summarize and report results; and execute testing when required. The Senior Quality Engineer – IT Infrastructure Services is expected to have experience with large scale IT infrastructure releases, such as major network upgrade, implementation of new storage technology or migration to a new client or server platform. This is a position with significant opportunity for growth within an innovative and dynamic cancer diagnostics company. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Attend all requirements and design meetings. Provide requirements and design recommendations to ensure consistency with Enterprise Architecture standards (e.g. security) and reduce application and system impact during version upgrades. Work closely with Systems Engineering to define and document master Test Design Specifications (test cases) for each component or system, including manual and automated unit, integration, stress and performance tests. Write scripts and/or automated tests for efficient, repeatable regression and performance testing (e.g. version upgrades). Define Quality Strategy/Plan for each IT Infrastructure release. Work closely Systems Engineering and Software Engineering to assess system and application risk/impact of release and document test coverage/scope for each. Work closely with Project Management to coordinate and document user testing. Execute testing when required. Prepare reports/documentation summarizing results. Participate in the review of change requests to evaluate impact and support re-verification events. Provide recommendations on system monitoring and metrics. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Full understanding of solution implementation lifecycle. Experience with large IT infrastructure releases, such as major network upgrade, implementation of new storage technology or migration to a new client or server platform. Strong technical skills in the areas of client-server and web services technologies, server and client platforms, storage, network, security and databases. Experience with the Microsoft technology stack. Experience with system monitoring tools, such as SCOM. Experience with performance testing. Knowledge and experience with scripting (e.g. Perl, Python) and other automated testing tools. Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with proven ability to tailor quality strategy to size, scale and risk of project. Strong customer relations skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong conflict resolution skills with ability to drive to win-win outcome for all stakeholders. Experience in project management a plus. Required EXPERIENCE, education and/or licenses/certifications 5+ years experience in Quality Engineering (IS emphasis), Systems Engineering, Systems Operations or Technical Support. BS in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field.
