*Role: Network Engineer*
*Location: Tallahassee, FL*
*Duration: 12 + month contract*
*Rate: up to $50/hr *

This position supports the Local Area and Wide Area network systems and
supplements the staff within the Network Administration group. The main
duties of this position include:
• Working with the network group to ensure the maintenance and
enhancement of the data network, including both wired and wireless network
systems. Maintaining computer communications equipment and
software to ensure quality and security of the data network.
Troubleshooting network and server-based problems and developing solutions
• Installing, maintaining and providing performance tuning of
computers and computer communication equipment. Assisting in the upgrades
and repairs to network systems
• Providing technical expertise for the design, maintenance and
monitoring of computer network
• Analyzing the needs and requirements of the agency to
research and design new systems for computer communications and networking.
Making recommendations to management about data networking.
• Supporting and maintaining the VOIP phone system and
videoconferencing system
• Demonstrating strong relationship and interpersonal skills in
working with other technical team members, program staff and other vendors.
• The consultant must be available to work after normal work
hours, weekends and holidays for on-call duty status.
• At least 5 years of IT work experience in
infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering
(hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
Experienced in managing and maintaining wired and wireless LANs and WANs.
Experienced in supporting and maintaining VOIP, videoconferencing and other
telecommunications systems and software
