Network Engineer Las Vegas 6-12 Months* Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs tier I, II, III, or IV escalation troubleshooting and support for internal and external customer networks Evaluates network infrastructure for upgrades or changes; establishes project plan and details. Establish and maintain threshold metrics for the various elements within the network Escalates circuit outages with telecom management and technical staff for resolution QA's new network hardware for compatibility and compliance with the network Evaluate and maintain security policies for network elements; routers, firewalls, and switches Provides mentoring and training to the other network engineers Maintains and develops relationships with external vendors, ISP's, and external customers Provides 24/7 on call support on a rotational basis Qualification Requirements: A minimum of 3-10 years’ experience and supporting a large enterprise network. (Design REQUIRED for Sr. Level engineers) Must have a Cisco Professional certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCDA, CCDP or CCVP or the Cisco Expert certification (CCIE) in either R&S, Security, or Voice Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: troubleshooting skills, resolves network issues independently using standard troubleshooting methodologies Ability to manage projects independently knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, and BGP knowledge of WAN protocols and circuits; MPLS, DSL, Frame Relay, DS1, DS0 level knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking devices such as layer 2/3 switches, routers, and firewalls ability in analyzing and troubleshooting packet captures using Wireshark Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as PERL, Ruby, Expect, or Python Ability to use network scanning software and techniques such as NMAP, NESSUS, and Metasploit to determine network, application and OS vulnerabilities Initiative, resourceful, and the ability to work independently Education: BSCS/EE or related field of study or equivalent work experience CCNA, CCDP, CCNP, CCSP, or CCVP or CCIE certification required *HARRY WILSON | * IT Technical Recruiter *CAT Technology Inc.
