*Title: * Sr. Performance Engineer *Duration:* 6+ Months
*Location:* St. Louis MO *Rate:* $60/hr on c2c Strong technical resource with minimum 8+ years experience in functional automation and performance testing using *HP Quick Test Pro and LoadRunner*. This candidate must have strong automation script development and analytical abilities. *Essential Functions Of The Position:* Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Coordinates with the Information Technology department to review existing integration capabilities, data sources, and proposed solution designs for feasibility, cost and functionality Conducts design sessions with appropriate participation from OSS Architects, Requirements Analysts, IT Operations and OSS Systems Engineers Creates detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications / services and for enhancements to existing systems / services Creates configuration designs and collaboration with IT Operations for design and implementation of various environments Creates work effort estimates for new features and bug fixes for use in prioritization and release management Develops core code modules, unit test tools and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes Reviews new development tools, application frameworks and testing tools for functionality / effectiveness Installs, administers, configures and maintains OSS applications including operating systems and related software Provides 'on call' support to resolve OSS application issues after normal business hours Uses established change management processes, requiring operational procedures be performed with minimal customer impact, (i.e. during established maintenance window) Works with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases in variety of languages Documents systems configurations and upgrades Designs and implements change and control policies and disaster recovery plans Monitors and assists in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and status, system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources Perform other duties as requested by supervisor *Preferred Qualifications* Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs forfeasibility, cost, and functionality Advanced ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications Advanced ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures. Advanced ability to troubleshoot application problems In-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools. In-depth knowledge of OSS applications and software In-depth knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process *Education * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience *Additional Duties And Qualifications* • Strong analytical skills and very detail oriented. • Ability to work independently with limited direction. • Experience in creating and automating detailed test scripts utilizing the HP Quick Test Pro. • Experience in writing detailed Performance Test Plans and Performance Test Reports. • Experience designing/developing/executing performance tests scripts utilizing HP LoadRunner. • Advanced debugging skills (must be well skilled in drawing conclusions and determining root cause). • Experience with C programming, VB, SQL. • Preferred knowledge of Splunk and SolarWinds performancemonitoring tool. • Ability to identify and/or develop performance requirements based on limited input, build out performance test environment diagrams, develop business test workflows. • Aptitude to design/develop/execute test data creation scripts. • Ability to coordinate and perform data collection of performance test metrics, including transaction rates, transaction response times, CPU, memory and network utilization. • Must have strong analytical ability to interpret test results and transform raw data into summary views. • Ability to work well with many project team members, including test automation lead, business analysts, project managers, designers, developers, testers, network engineers and administrators. • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. • Preferred experience with HP Quality Center administration, to include user creation, project and test lab creation, report creation, troubleshooting and maintenance, and upgrades from version 9.2 to 11.0. • Preferred experience working with HP Support team (creating tickets, researching issues in HP Knowledge database, identifying and resolving issues).
