*Cognos Developer/Admin* *Ontario, CA* *6 months* *$55/hr* * * *The Opportunity Snapshot: Oracle Business* The Intelligence Analyst/Developer will be responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing the COGNOS Business Analytics BI solution. As an expert in business intelligence methodologies and processes, the BI Analyst is expected to work in a cross functional environment across multiple department in understanding their information needs and translating these requirements into refined easy to use information tools. *Keys to Success:* We are looking for a creative, best-in-class professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and team-working skills and will be unafraid of stretching his/her talents in a dynamic and innovative organization. *Responsibilities* • Work side by side with ERP development team to come up with innovative solutions to replace existing Oracle Discoverer reports and help design foundation for ad hoc reporting by business. • Work directly with business users and functional analysts and in comprehending business requirements and modeling appropriate Business Analytics metrics and KPI reports to meet these requirements. • Provide reporting, analysis and insightful recommendations to business leaders on key performance metrics pertaining to finance, Sales, Marketing, purchasing, manufacturing and warehouse operations. • Lead and participate in new development requests, enhancements, and project initiatives. • Provide team leadership to BI staff while collaborating and coordinating with other Business applications and End user teams. • Follow and implement Business Intelligence best practices and architectural standards. • Support existing Cognos reports and fine tuning the reports for optimal performance. • Follow and implement Business Intelligence best practices and architectural standards. • Troubleshoot BI problems. Active Report), Analysis Studio, Query Studio, transformer, Event Studio, Metric Stuido is essential. • *Cognos Administration and extensive security experience a must.* • Extensive knowledge on data visualization techniques and dashboard design is essential. • Experience working with Oracle E-business Application 11.5.10 or R12 is a definite plus. • Extensive programming experience in SQL & PL/SQL essential. Optimization experience a plus. • Technical skills in Cognos analytic applications, adaptive warehouse modeling is a definite plus. • Java Scripting, HTML, and leveraging GIS within Cognos a definite plus. Experience in working for a manufacturing company is desirable. • Knowledge of database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures. • Experience and advanced knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniques. • Performance of various roles in DW / BI development efforts (developer, tester, lead, PM, business analyst, etc). • Understand normalized and star-schema (dimensional) physical models and logical modeling concepts. • Experience with a variety of sources (EBS, XML, Oracle, flat file, excel spreadsheets, transactional (OLTP) sources, etc).
