*non-local and is okay with skype interviews. * Scope of position: Research and develop backend enhancements related to the following areas: SQL Server Transactional Replication, query optimization, and application of schema changes to live production sites. Main Responsibilities: 1. Come up to speed on product database architecture. 2. Research and develop alternatives to SQL Server’s Transactional Replication with Immediate Update (deprecated by Microsoft) 3. Research and develop use of covering indexes and other similar strategies to assist in optimizing various reports 4. Research and document techniques to support application of schema changes to live, replicated production databases, without requiring site downtime. 5. Coordinate work effort and communicate progress daily with development lead or manager. 6. Work closely with Development, Operations, and QA to ensure features are implemented per requirements Required Skills/Education Requirement: 1. BS in Computer Science or related 2. 4 years of development or DBA experience minimum 3. Excellent communication skills 4. Good experience with SQL Server, query optimization, DDL 5.
