Job Title : Sr. Java Developer Location: Columbia,SC Duration : Long Term Contract ///Only US and GC holder/// Allowed to submit subcontracted candidates for this requirement. CANDIDATE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND: -- Extensive knowledge and experience managing and maintaining the following operating systems: AIX, Solaris (more important AIX), sundry flavors of Linux (RedHat, SuSE, CentOS, etc), Windows 2000, Windows 2003. This should include command-line administration of said devices and comfort with shell-level interfaces. -- Knowledge and experience in contemporary application hosting paradigms including, but not limited to, three-tier design, reverse proxies, name and ip-based virtual hosts, and clustering/load-balancing technologies. -- Knowledge and experience in J2EE-specific application hosting. This includes VM tuning, application tracing/debugging, application deployment, container resource configuration (JDBC, JMS, et al), and security configuration. -- Knowledge and experience with various J2EE application containers including, but not limited to, Tomcat, WebSphere, Sun Java System Web Server, and JBoss. -- Knowledge and experience in network application/web application security concepts including authentication/authorization protocols, transport encryption concepts (SSL/TLS), LDAP and related services, and others. -- Knowledge and experience with hardware specification evaluation, platform sizing, and capacity planning in support of an enterprise application hosting environment. -- Knowledge and experience with J2EE application building/deployment techniques and tools including, but not limited to Ant, CruiseControl, sundry code version repositories (MKS, Subversion, etc), and automation thereof. -- Experience with automation technologies for the related platforms (OS and Application) such as UNIX shell script, Perl, Jython, etc. JOB DESCRIPTION: Make recommendations to management to adjust system performance parameters. Delegate problem resolution to other team members and conduct follow-up. Provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Develop custom integration solutions. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.Manager could convert this contractor to permanent after six months, assuming performance, etc. is in line with expectations.
