Job Title : Backup Admin Location : Cumberland, RI Duration : 6Months+ *!! HOT REQUIREMENT !!* Job Description Configure all aspects of the backup infrastructure including secondary storage frames, switches and disk/tape topologies as directed in various configurations using knowledge of backup concepts as they relate to large enterprise multi PB environments that employ TSM and Avamar technologies. Responsible for backup and recovery methodologies and application of these methodologies including retention, reclamation, and disaster recovery. In managing the environment, will also be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for multiple environments. Report on performance and capacities and make allocation recommendations based on trending. Manage, configure and maintain multi-PB multi-tiered environment. Respond to, diagnose and remediate issues in a dynamic environment. Participate in capacity planning and performance discussions and assist in development and execution of disaster recovery exercises. Responsible for maintaining current microcode and software component levels. Job Requirements 5-8 years progressive experience as Backup Administrator or Backup Specialist. TSM skill set including troubleshooting, set up and restore. Comprehensive knowledge of the Windows operating system – most important platform. Understanding of Unix and Linux operating system. Knowledge of IBM tape technologies and EMC Data Domain frames. Optional Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred. EMC Certified professional a plus.
