*Network Security Engineer* *Charlotte NC* *6 Months Contract* * * * * *Job Overview:* * * The Sr. Network Security Engineer manages, evaluates, creates and troubleshoots the core security infrastructure for the company and is responsible for engineering security solutions in a multi data center 24x7x365 highly available environment. * * *Job Responsibilities* * * • Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, DMZ design, IPSec and SSL VPN, network monitoring, network gateways, network design / topologies, and networking protocols in addition to intrusion detection and remote access technologies • Must have strategic visions, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Solid understanding of network topologies / design: routing, switching, and MPLS/VPLS • Solid understanding of firewall technology, design and administration • Basic knowledge in LANs/WAN technology, Internet technology, experience in routing and network protocols (especially TCP/IP), • Troubleshooting networks (TCP/IP and packet analysis) • Solid Understanding of network and system attack knowledge • Solid understanding of LINUX and Windows system administration • Solid understanding of remote access design and implementation with various dual factor authentication methods • Understanding of RSA secure id or other multifactor authenticators REQUIREMENTS: • 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and design for firewalls • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines for multiple project assignments • Capable of exercising extreme discretion and independent judgment • Ability to handle extremely confidential information in a professional manner • MS Office skills especially Word, Excel and Visio • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of communicating technical and security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. • Knowledge of various forms of encryption and hashing technologies * * *Preferred Qualifications**:* *Job Related Experience*: - Minimum 5-8 years professional experience in IT or related field * * *Additional Skills/Knowledge*: • Firewall Administration • High organizational skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong ability to produce technical documentation • Experience solving regulatory compliance issues through security architecture for PCI, FISMA, etc… • Proxy and/or URL filtering experience DESIRED SKILLS : • CISSP Certification • Checkpoint or Cisco certifications • Imperva Web Application or Database firewall experience, rudimentary Understanding of SQL/DB2/Oracle databases and database architecture • Arc sight Logger, Connector Appliance, ESM or experience with a comparable SEIM.
