Description:

Java Programmer

Development and support for informatics program utilizing PHP, SQL, Java,
HTML, Javascript, Ajax, XML. Particularly comfortable with web
technologies. Collaborative, able to integrate with a global team,
open-minded and agile thinker and doer, comfortable in a creative, fast
moving work environment.

20% to help on our ELN (Agilent OpenLAB) for:

Execute test scripts

User training and support

Collection of needs

Design of forms and templates (Java skills)

80% In practice, would initially work on tissue and biologicals sample
management. If the same person could also be someone with whom we could
challenge ideas on development technologies and information systems, it
would be great.

*Required Skills: *

5+ Web dev (php, javascript, both very advanced).

5+ Java (sping + spring data) and c# would be a big complementary asset

Excellent interpersonal skills to interact within and outside the team.

PHP, HTML + 3 years

*Position: Core Java developer*

*Location: NYC*

*Duration: 12 months (interview Will start with phone/skype, Must do a
final in-person )*

1.       Develop Trading applications for crossing, routing, order
management, initial public offering and related functions.

2.       Develop Quantitative portfolio management applications to provide
the user the data and systems they need to perform their analysis.

3.       Support these mission critical systems and applications on a daily
basis and troubleshoot production problems.

4.       Make improvements to the operational and monitoring processes and
help develop strategic solution around those.

*Skills:*

Strong experience with object oriented programming in core java – OO
concepts in java, data structures, algorithms, multithreading etc.

Experience with the following JEE technologies and related libraries -
JDBC/Hibernate, JMS, Spring

Experience with Unix environment

a.       commands and utilities, some monitoring and tuning.

b.      ability to develop shell scripts or other scripts (such as
perl/python) for data processing, job execution and monitoring.

Familiarity with Development tools (Eclipse, Netbeans etc.), design/UML
tools, profiling/tuning tools, build/deploy tools (ANT/Maven) etc.

Experience with any of the following systems is a strong plus in the order
given – SAS/R, Esper/Marketcetera, Camel/FUSE, HTML5/Adobe Flex.

Understanding of equity trading and portfolio management systems helpful

Familiarity with order management, crossing, portfolio construction,
reference data/market data etc.

Understanding of the FIX protocol

*Other Skills – *

Attention to detail and ability to write quality technical documents

Willingness to be part of rotational support schedule and other operational
activities

Ability to collaborate with demanding business users such as traders and
portfolio managers
