Postion: Telephony Systems Administrator Location: mountain view, CA The job description on our end is "Telephony Systems Administrator", and the job consists of: (1) Handling operational issues for adding, testing, and escalating issues with phone numbers in our system. This is a combination of using our tools and processes to add and test numbers, analyzing log information to see why phone numbers didn't work, and escalating issues with carriers when numbers don't work (generally via email.) A combination of technical skill and good communication skill is essential. (2) Investigating and responding to operational issues around phone number portability. Similar to the previous work, this requires analysis of data from our systems, usage of our tools, and escalation to third parties when appropriate to resolve issues. (3) Operational issues for legal investigations and abuse: This is analysis of logs and data based on legal requests for abuse scenarios. In terms of skills, we're looking for someone with the following skills: · Familiarity with Linux systems, including command line tools, etc. · Scripting or programming experience (Python is a plus) · Experience or familiarity with telephony or IP telephony systems is ideal (preferrably experience specifically with phone numbering, such as working on projects involving number portability, phone number inventory management, etc.) · Experience with SIP is a huge plus · Other skills or experience that can be helpful/relevant: OpenSIPs, YATE, Asterisk, etc. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills (communication with third party companies and vendors with regards to technical issues, on behalf of Google, will be a core part of the job.)
