Position : Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse DBA Location : Jacksonville, FL Duration : Long term The BI/DW DBA has overall responsibility for the design, implementation and administration of the SQL Server databases, environment architecture and data management functions in support of the company’s BI/DW projects and initiatives. This position will work closely with the BI/DW Solutions Architect, ETL Developer, IT project and infrastructure teams, other operational DBA’s and business owners to translate requirements into a complete data warehouse and business intelligence solution. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership in developing the overall BI/DW database/ data management architecture and strategy, implementing and supporting the physical data models and providing guidance to IT management in establishing both a short-term roadmap and long-term BI/DW strategy. This individual provides hands-on technical knowledge & leadership working with the business analysts, infrastructure teams, architects and developers in support of all BI/DW initiatives. * * *Qualifications:* * * - 4-6 years experience as a senior operational DBA supporting data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. - Expertise in logical and physical data warehouse database design (Oracle, SQLServer), and performance optimization. Should have excellent database design, data modeling knowledge and experience related to large scale, multi-dimensional BI/data warehousing implementations. - Experience and demonstrated competencies with multi-dimensional design, star schemas, facts and dimensions. - Comprehensive understanding of data management best practices including demonstrated experience with data profiling, sourcing, and cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching. - Working knowledge and experience with data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technologies. - Deep knowledge and operational experience with Microsoft BI/DW tools, technologies and products (SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, etc). · Experience with schema management and tools such as ERwin, SQL Compare or equivalent tools. - Proficient in SQL, Office 2007(Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Sharepoint 2007 and Crystal Reports. - Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication at all organizational levels. - Experience in working with distributed development teams; offshore, onshore, and near-shore. - B.S in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent business experience.
