Please find the below requirement. *Title*: Storage SME *Location:* Thousand Oaks, CA *Duration:* 4 Months Contract to Perm *Job Term:* Contract *(**only W2)* *Interview Process: *Phone and Skype. *They prefer local candidates - they will need to be onsite 100% of the time in Thousand Oaks, CA.* *Interviews will take place over the phone and then in person.* *This is 3-4 months temp to perm.* *Job Description:* - This role requires the candidate to serve as an expert (SME) and guides others in the resolution of the most complex incidents and problems encountered during a data center migration. - Develops processes, procedures and defines metrics to review for capacity management. - This role leads additional research into technology that provides improved resiliency and recovery for databases. *The candidate should have experience in :* - developing and validating the database migration plans and provide inputs as and when necessary. - Supporting modeling data loads from source to target for capacity planning (sizing, bandwidth, throughput, duration) - Developing and implementing database performance monitoring process and analyze monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities and capacity planning - Review the on-site backup and recovery process and / or support of the off-site backup and recovery teams and ensure source and target of migrated instances backup approach is sufficient - Communicating database requirements to the development team for the design and implementation of database-related code - Help defining back-up & recovery strategy - Help defining archiving strategy - Help defining disaster recovery strategy - Participating in project estimating activities - Producing technical documentation related to the databases under management according to technology standards - Strong understanding of ETL *The candidate shall :* - Establish strong working relationships with the Application Hosting teams - Coach / mentor other team members as appropriate - Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues - Communicate status / risks to manager regarding delivering solution on time - Have a college degree in related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience - Have 10 years or more of relevant work experience - Have experience / advanced knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniques - Have knowledge of database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures - Have knowledge of productivity factors and ability to understand impact of issues on overall database performance - Have knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes - Have knowledge of maintenance tools and procedures - Have experience in Backups/recovery; - Oracle RAC experience is a plus - Oracle RAC experience with OLPT systems a plus - Oracle Data Guard experience - Have a thorough understanding of storage and various storage protocols (NAS( NFS, CIFS) etc.) - Have NetAPP experience is a plus • Database Security; PCI, CPNI, SOX controls, TDE / Oracle encryption.
