Job Description:

Role Description              

·         We are looking for a Production Support Engineer to provide Level 
2 support for a Mobile Wallet application. 

·         This person will be responsible for Cosmetic changes (e.g content 
changes), execution of scripts, report generation Integration and testing of 
back-end enterprise services, 3rd party service interface testing and 
monitoring, 
working with the infrastructure and support teams for server management, build 
management and deployments. 

·         Responsibilities include close coordination with the infrastructure 
teams for system/server upgrades, logs analysis, backup and restore, system 
checks, server health checks and startups, initialization, database checks 
and database management. 

·         Early watch analysis and user role management via a custom tool and 
use of a custom production support tool. Good documentation skills required.

·         6+ years of experience 

·         Skilled Unix administration, scripting, troubleshooting, 

·         Must have good understanding of Java web services and experience 
coding in same. 

·         Good understanding of databases and some ability to use SQL to check 
data and generate reports. 

·         Must have ability to make application content changes using Java 
and Spring 

·         Axis 2, HTML, XML,Tomcat .

·         Prod support engineer would need to be on-call and to respond to 
texts. 

·         Prod Support engineer will work more with deployments of existing 
code and help with troubleshooting production issues. 

·         Ideally they would be able to work with software, the JD says they 
should be able to make app content changes using Java and Spring. 


• Troubleshoot production issues by analyzing logs
•  Fix infrastructure issues related to the current production servers (Ex. 
F5 access issues to mobile wallet, connection issues to other backend systems, 
certificate expiration, updates to production server, log file rotation, 
autosys 
job execution, etc.
• Monitor and act on production reports like Wily Introscope reports for App 
servers, DB servers
• Monitor disk space, memory utilization, process status thresholds and work 
with the extended WF middleware teams to resolve issues if any
• Open tickets for Production fixes
• Track approvals and manage readiness for deployments
• Create gameplans for production hot fixes
• Manage Production Support infrastructure requirements (DB connection, NAS 
drive, etc.)

·         Subversion or other source control tool experience required. 

·         Anthill or other build system experience required. 

·         Good understanding of SLAs, support tools 

·         Good communication skills (Written, Oral)
