Sr. Software Engineer in Test Job Description Location -Chicago ,IL Rate-Open Duration-Long Term looking for Sr. Software Engineer in Test to work on Automotive Cloud initiative. The team develops massive real-time event processing and Big Data analytical systems in cloud environment. In this role the successful candidate will work with software developers and product management to ensure successful development and deployment of key system components and solutions overall. As a Sr. Software Engineer in Test, this role will have a breadth of knowledge and success in conducting functional, performance, and fault tolerance testing as well as the ability to comprehend requirements, complete work in a timely manner and communicate information effectively. Qualifications Required Qualification * 3+ years of expert level coding skills in Java (recent experience in back-end Java desired) * Extensive working experience in automated testing using JUnit/TestNG, JMeter, SoapUI, etc * 3+ years of experience in deploying J2EE applications (in Tomcat, JBoss etc.) * Working knowledge of RESTful APIs , XML, JSON, network programming and message exchange systems * 5+ years of experience in performance, scalability, and fault tolerance testing * Must be a team player, should be able to get along well with others * Great communication skills (including active listening and comprehending requirements) Desired Skills * Scrum model * Knowledge of Jenkins/Hudson or another continuous integration and release management tool * Good knowledge of SCM tools including Git, subversion * Knowledge of build automation tools e.g. maven, ant, gradle * Knowledge of one or more scripting languages e.g. python, ruby, groovy * Some experience in JavaScript and HTML * Web site development experience including Apache, HTML/CSS, jQuery * Proficiency in working in Unix/Linux environment Key Responsibilities: * Develop and document test plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures * Write code for automated testing. * Run manual tests wherever necessary. * Come up with creative ways to automate as much testing as possible. * Investigate failed tests. This will often require debugging the code. * Log defects as needed and participate in triage process. Everyone in the team is responsible for ensuring high quality, but this role will be the champion for driving high quality principles throughout the product creation process.
