Please review the below Job Description and let me know if you are comfortable *Java Technical Architect * *Location: Rockville, MD* *Duration: 6+ months contract* *Phone and skype* *Job Description: * We are looking for a Technical Architect who is responsible for the overall technical design and build of software systems that are part an enterprise. The right person for the job will leverage new and emerging technologies to help deliver the complete solution for the customer. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned) * Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across customer needs, business constraints and technological realities Guide evaluations of alternative solutions. Develop detail design and implementation of the software solutions. Produce a detailed technical design document to match the solution design specifications. Manage multiple development designs and projects to meet project and customer required time lines Provide oversight and leadership on large projects. Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings with the customer Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills and able to effectively work successfully with different Stakeholders Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision *Experience and Qualifications * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. *Qualifications * A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent At least 12 years in the Information Technology field At least 4 years working as a Systems/Technical Architect Experience working in an organization or business unit that has implemented CMMI Level 3 processes Experience working with CDISC, BRIDG, HL7 is a plus Experience with Oracle Relational database Software development and implementation – web and client server technologies Strong presentation and communication skills Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile (Scrum) project methodologies Excellent oral and written communications skills *** Should have hands-on expertise in some of the following technologies: * 7 – 8 years of experience with the following technologies: o JAVA, J2EE, Spring 3.0, Hibernate, EJB 3, AJAX, JSF, ICE faces, JSP, Struts 2 o SOA, Enterprise Service Bus, Service Orchestration o Web Services, WSDL, UDDI, XML, DTD, XSD,XLST,SOAP, JAVA RMI o RDBMS – Oracle 10g/11g Education, Certifications And/Or Memberships Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred. Communications Skills This job requires interaction with scientists, program managers, senior executives, end-users, programming staff, administration, and support personnel. The ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts both orally and in written documents is critical.
