The UNIX Systems/Network Administrator oversees the management of servers,
networks and corporate network security and provides hands-on support for
IT and engineering labs consisting of 50 servers and 200 lab machines in
installation, configuration and troubleshooting. Citrix / Bytemobile is
looking for a candidate with strong networking and administration
experience.

This role works closely with our world-class development team to ensure
that IT can provide infrastructure that enables the team to develop the
next generation of Bytemobile products.

Responsibilities:

•            Monitor all systems and implement best practices and
procedures to minimize risk, outages and data loss

•            Install, configure and maintain different flavors of UNIX
environment (Solaris SPARC, x86 and Linux)

•            Manage and expand our virtual environments, while also
managing the hardware these environments are deployed on.

•            Manage and expand use of our NetApp storage infrastructure
globally (NAS and SAN)

•            Resolve operating system, application software, hardware,
networking, and performance problems on various Solaris and Red Hat Linux
platforms and VMware ESX/ESXi servers

•            Install and configure packages and software applications such
as Apache, as well as web applications

•            Write and maintain shell scripts, using Perl, Bash, and csh to
automate systems administration tasks

•            Be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation

Required Qualifications:

•            Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline

•            Minimum of 5–7 years administering UNIX systems in an
environment of similar size

•            Experience working with networking switches, routers and
firewalls

•            Experience with NetApp (NAS and SAN) iSCSI storage

•            VMware is a must, experience with XenServer is a plus

•            Strong familiarity with production monitoring services — in
particular, Nagios

•            Thorough knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, YP/NIS, LDAP,
NFS, Automounter, SSH, HTTP, FTP, DNS, Samba, VLANs, and DHCP

•            Proficiency in JumpStart/Kickstart installation; ability to
add and modify profiles

•            Strong knowledge of OSI layer and networking

•            Ability to rebuild the UNIX kernel and modify system parameters

•            Ability to automate routine tasks by using in-depth scripting
knowledge and experience (Perl, Python)

•            Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose network
problems using open-source tools

•            Some knowledge of Windows systems and protocols

•            Achievement-oriented person; ability to multitask and work
under pressure

•            Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to
document work

•            Highly organized, self-motivated person; ability to work
independently as well as with a team

•            Ability to work in a dynamic environment; willingness to go
outside job functions and help where needed

•            Experience with Solaris, Linux, HP Procurve, NetScreen FW,
Cisco ASA, Cisco and NETGEAR switches and routers, NetApp ONTAP, IBM
BladeCenter, and Cisco VPN desirable
