The role involves the design and implementation of point solutions, as well as top-level platform knowledge in support of the Operations team. The role will involve researching, defining and developing technical solutions in addition to engineering responsibilities surrounding the overall platform itself. The position requires a strong background in Linux systems, Open Sources tools and scripting, a good knowledge of infrastructure and a solid understanding of leading IT technologies. You must be a self-starter who is passionate about the technology you are building, and eager to produce world-class services. You should enjoy a team environment where your success depends heavily on the success of your team and organization, and have an appetite and appreciation for highly disruptive projects that challenge the status quo. *Requirements* · Bachelor Degree in Computer Science · 5+ years of working experience working with IT enterprise physical & virtualization environments. · Solid knowledge of system management and methodologies specifically related to virtualization, server operating systems, networking, distributed computing environment and systems security. · Advanced knowledge of Linux OS. Ability to monitor, manage and troubleshoot both physical and virtual machines with native or third party Linux tools. · Proficiency in one of the scripting languages (shell, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, Python) and common knowledge of Object Oriented coding skills to automate processes. · Thorough understanding of server and network protocols and technologies e.g. DNS, DHCP, VLAN, TCP/IP, NTP and such · Experience managing, configuring, Windows desktop and server operating systems; experience with Active Directory is a plus. · Working knowledge of SQL language and experience with supporting at least one kind of RDBMS (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) · General knowledge of storage concepts in relation to virtualized environments.
