*Required Skills *

·         Strong working knowledge of IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.x
infrastructure components

·         Working knowledge of OS (including Windows, Linux, AIX and
OS400), networking, and firewall concepts

·         Working knowledge of upgrading and migration paths available
through IBM Tivoli Monitoring

·         Working knowledge of XML

·         Working knowledge of Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Agents (TEMA)

·         Working knowledge of AgentBuilder

·         Working knowledge of IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus

·         Working knowledge of IBM Tivoli Impact

·         Basic knowledge of security (SSL, data encryption, GS Kit, system
user accounts)

·         Working knowledge of supported databases and ODBC/JDBC

·         Basic knowledge of the enterprise wide monitoring capabilities of
IBM Tivoli Monitoring

·         Basic knowledge of protocols including HTTP, LDAP, and SOAP

·         Working knowledge of IBM Integrated Services Management Library

·         Working knowledge of shell and scripting



*Standard Duties Include*

·         Maintain and enhance the Tivoli production environment

·         Documentation of Tivoli Components configuration, (startup,
shutdown, and load migration) processes & procedures.

·         Install, upgrade, and configure IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.x
infrastructure components and integrated products (including IBM Tivoli
Enterprise Portal, IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus, IBM Tivoli Network Manager
and IBM Tivoli Data Warehouse, etc.).

·         Understand the needs of the customer to provide an ongoing
solution to the IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment.

·         Customize the IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment including
building of workspaces, situations, policies etc.

·         Submit, present, and implement change requests.

·         Use various interfaces to configure and administer the IBM Tivoli
Monitoring V6.2.x environment.

·         Perform performance tuning and problem determination for IBM
Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.x.

·         Develop and Maintain the overall operational picture of assets
and system availability.

·         Provide operational support and procedure documentation for
service desk personnel.

·         Identify and resolve security and procedure vulnerabilities.



*Required Experience *

·         Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline

·         Ability to interface with business and technical management

·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills

·         5 plus years-experience working with Tivoli Enterprise Systems
Management products.

·         Proven track record managing enterprise networks in a changing
environment

·         Solid understanding of change management and repeatable/best
practices within Systems Management

·         Must be able to flex working hours to support NOC that operates
on a 24x7 schedule.

·         Basic DB2 administration knowledge.

·         Scripting knowledge, such as: PERL, Unix Shell scripting, Windows
Batch file programming.

·         5+ years of experience supporting W/Intel server/Workstation and
AIX environment.

·         Extensive knowledge of Windows applications and their
installation.

·         Experience with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office products.

·         Superior Skills in System Design, Implementation, Improvement,
and Operation of the IBM Tivoli Suite of Monitoring tools such as IBM
Tivoli Monitoring, Netcool/OMNIbus and IBM Tivoli Network Manager.

·         Work Directly with Application and System Engineers to Enhance,
Monitor and increase operational on-site and availability.

·         Monitor and Plan for Increases in Capacity due to seasonal system
load and changes in policy.

·         Ability to scrutinize advanced and diverse systems for the
monitoring of and control over system availability, root cause analysis,
and future system enhancements/developments.
