Manager is looking for a candidate who is more technical and hands-on with development and not just high-level design.” *Role Summary * This role creates and maintains architecture plans and specifications for multiple business and technical domains, or for programs with larger complexity and scope. This role also guides and directs reference implementations and proof-of-concepts (POC) in multiple disciplines such as: Applications, Business, Infrastructure and Solutions. *General Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience Required* • Bachelor’s degree minimum • 10+ years experience in designing, implementing and delivering large complex systems • Proficiency with Java programming language, detailed experience with OOD and Modeling, and knowledge of Unix/Linux • Extensive technology knowledge and recognized expertise in several areas. Current environment includes Java, J2EE, WebSphere, Oracle, Linux and emerging thin-client technologies including AJAX, Flex, etc. • Experience with establishing technical strategy and architecture at an enterprise level is expected; awareness of both current and developing technologies • Demonstrated mastery of previous levels’ skills and responsibilities • Financial Industry experience a plus *Key Responsibilities * *Develops and communicates architecture standards reference models, and decision models.* • Drives adoption of enterprise standards and best practices. • Develops, communicates, and oversees implementation of architecture and technology standards to individuals, project teams, divisions, business units, domains of expertise, and across the enterprise. • Develops and implements decision models which allow for the application and interpretation of standards. • Recommends process changes that will support more effective implementation of standards. • Drives and enforces relevant IT Governance policies, procedures and processes (i.e. ARB, Architecture Review Board). • Makes presentations and adapts message to audiences across multiple technical and business domains. • Communicates benefits of architecture standards in multiple technical and business domains. *Develops and Assesses Technical Solutions* • Leads process of assessing a business request, developing requirements, documenting a solution, delivering a prototype, and presenting a business solution at an executive level. • Anticipates applicability of major industry trends in the large project or business unit level and implements plans. Develops or executes Proof of Concepts (POC’s) to assess technical and business benefits. • Participates in critical problem solving and advanced troubleshooting to assist the organization. • Presents technical solutions and the underlying business requirements that drove its development. • Assesses the technical integrity and risks inherent in that solution in such a way that the recommendations and findings are appropriate and can be implemented across the business unit. • Given project requirements that call for or would benefit from the use of standards, establishes, implements, and enforces appropriate standards in the creation and implementation of the solution to meet those requirements. • Given requirements and a list of stakeholders, identifies approaches, tools, techniques, and technologies to meet the requirements, and explains the present and future rationale so that stakeholders accept choices and support the rationale. *Develops Technical strategies & implementation roadmaps for business solutions* • Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to cost effective and best fit architectural strategy recommendations for very large projects or application or for a given business domain. • Involves other individuals directly impacted by the solution in the decisions and recommendations. • Leads the development of large project or sets of projects or business unit technologies, which may include: applications, infrastructure and/or database strategies. • Participates in the creation of business unit organization and implementation plans. • Identifies and champions the creation and use of common services and components. • Contributes to and ensures adherence to roadmap at a business domain level or across projects. • Effectively addresses functional and quality goals of systems during design activities.
