As with contract management, must be done in collaboration with operations, as they are the primary stakeholder in this data. * Providing accurate and timely supporting data to enable optimal decisions on asset deployment, management, and retirement/disposition. * Lead internal and external software audits as required. Software Spending/Demand Management * Procurement - Vendor negotiations; cost analysis. * Vendor management - Cost aspects of supplier relationships. * Portfolio management - Managing the asset portfolio; cost aspects of portfolio management. * Chargeback - Providing the prerequisite data to enable accurate chargeback based on asset consumption. * Budgeting - Supplies and analyzes asset cost information. Software Financial Management * Identify and accurately quantify and communicate the financial effects of application upgrades (or upgrade avoidance) on IT organizations. * Align and coordinate the interaction of project and asset portfolio management to better align IT needs with delivered business value. * Providing accurate asset costing data to the organization's service catalog to help the business user associate a real cost with each IT service catalog element. * Forecasting software costs for IT operational budgets. Portfolio Management * Help identify and accurately quantify the Business and IT Portfolio. * Facilitate moving the portfolio from planning to execution stages by checking compliance & deliverables, reviewing action items and forecasting demand. Enterprise Planning * Works with the Planning group to track information related to Master Plans, Roadmaps, Technical & Reference Architecture, Standards and Applications. * Coordinates entry of information into Enterprise Architecture tools. * Manages the Internal Architecture & Directions Web Site.
