*Summary*
The Test Lead is responsible for the writing the test plan, reviewing
requirements as testable, leading the development and execution of test
cases, defect triage and management and status reporting for the testing
progress.


The Test Lead will require 7+ years in software quality analysis and
testing in multiple environments including all aspects of software testing
(planning, development, execution, monitoring, control). For this
assignment, they also need 3+ years of experience in services testing and
verification.

*Duties and Responsibilities*
• Analyze requirements for completeness, correctness and clarity to drive
the testing effort and confirm them as testable
• Ensures 100% test coverage to requirements
• Acts as a Lead to direct, control and manage test related activities at
various stages throughout the development process.
• Support solution delivery activities related to testing including:
Developing the Test Plan, Managing Test Execution Activities, Reporting on
Test Metrics and supporting Test Closure activities.
• Self-starter able to work independently and easily collaborate with the
Project team.
• Ability to manage workload with a minimum supervision
• Ensures team adherence to Quality Assurance policies, procedures and
processes.
• Monitors team performance, spotting trends and identifying anomalies for
escalation.
• Participates as a key contributor in regards to test and quality aspects
of the project.
• Coordinates and engages the appropriate level of expertise on issues
related to testing.
• Designs tests to ensure adherence to functional and quality requirements
• Ascertains impacts of key issues/considerations and makes recommendations
for risk mitigation strategies.
• Defines the targets of test
• Debugs the development and execution of test scripts against the targets
of test
• Define test data and environment reuqirements to support test execution
activities.
• Creates test scenarios/detailed test cases that ensure all error handling
processes perform as expected
• Works with QA Supervisor to develop the ROM estimate.
• Facilitate defect triage meetings
• Analyzes test failures and metrics for quality assessment
• Develops and/or leads test case development to verify requirements
according to standards/best practices with alignment to test plan/strategy
• Provide estimates to develop and execute test cases
• Provide quality metrics for test case build, execution, and defect
management activities
• Evaluation/selection of appropriate tests, testing methods, etc.,
leveraging technical expertise to make independent decisions
• Excellent attention to detail and the understanding of how to find flaws
in non-UI based complex software.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken
• Must be a self-starter
• Able to manage teams that are not co-located (i.e., global)


*Job Knowledge*
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong experience in test methodologies and support test practices: test
planning, test case development, test case execution and defect triage, and
test closure activities.
• Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced
environment.
• Experience with various software testing strategies and approaches (e.g.,
parallel testing, regression testing)
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Good understanding of Quality Assurance and Control concepts
• Knowledge of test metrics and how they are used for decision support
• Knowledge of common programming concepts, practices and structures
• Expert knowledge of the HP ALM test tool components: Dashboard,
Management, Requirements, Testing and Defects
• Understands data structures, data models and technical design documents
in order to be able to identify test scenarios.
• Strong GUI/API testing ability and validation skills.
• Ability to use SQL for data verification test cases.
• Must understand technical data-related terminology and concepts
