Please let me know are you comfortable with this position? 12+ months Redwood City, CA H1s ok Phone/Skype Interview ok (Priority given to local Bay Area candidates) QA ENGINEER Responsibilities: * Actively participates in agile meetings with product management and engineering, and "own" the Release product testing effort. You will eventually be the Integration testing expert on the QA team for this area. * Interact with cross functional team members to clarify requirements and drive projects to on-time completion * Designs, maintains and executes test suites that are stored in the Jira repository and Perforce * Write and update Test Plans and test strategy documents * Write and execute Test Cases and planned testing tasks manually and using automation. * Design and develop Front end automated tests suites. * Conceptualize, design, document and implement automated functional API / Web services tests using Java / Junit * Will work with the QA Manager to design test strategies, develop test tools and implement test scripts for client products to ensure the highest quality of deliverables. * Send Status Reports on Testing Progress. * Participate in Release Management activities and production launches. * Participate in production monitoring of issues. * Review customer reported problems, Identify bug trends and drive resolution process. * Ensure comprehensive test coverage by finding bugs, defects and verifying fixes * Reports defects clearly in Jira defect tracking system * Coordinates and clearly communicates assignments to the offshore team * Informs manager in a timely and clear manner regarding progress on tasks and of issues needing immediate remediation or escalation * Proactive attitude and a willingness to "go the extra mile" to get the job done well * Highly flexible attitude and ability to shift gears when priorities change * Proactively participate in maintaining team standards and best practices Desired Qualifications: * 5 - 7 years' experience in a fast-paced software industry with an excellent understanding of QA methodology * White box and automation experience required * Must have 3 - 5 years' experience in using Selenium / Java / Junit / TestNG for UI automation * Solid 4 - 5 years' experience in testing UI for Web sites * 2 - 3 years strong experience in testing CLOUD based applications * Strong Knowledge of technologies like XML, JSON, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XSL. * Solid 2 - 3 years' experience in automation testing of Android and iPhone applications * Solid 2 - 3 years' experience in automating testing of API / RESTful Web services using Java / JUnit * Strong Programming experience specifically in Java * Test automation and scripting experience in at least one of Perl, Unix shell, Ruby * Experience in leading projects from test plan development through production launch * Solid working knowledge of web and mobile applications * Familiarity with software development life cycles * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Experience working with an offshore QA team * Previous experience working in an Agile environment is required. * Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, procedures & documentation * Fast learner, with an excellent attention to detail. * Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment * Ability to work against extremely tight deadlines. * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. * Team-player attitude and the ability to work in a multi-tasking fast paced environment * Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly. * BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
