*6 Month+ Contract* *LOOKING FOR LOCAL CANDIDATES OR SOMEONE FROM NEARBY STATES* *Description:* The Senior Business Intelligence Report Writer designs, develops, tests, and maintains complex operational and analytical reports. This role requires you to be a leader in quality control and peer review, implement new processes and be knowledgeable about report-writing best practices. Responsibilities: Create complex reports using SQL and Jasper Reports for products and for internal use. Gather and document functional and technical report requirements, and translate requirements into reporting solutions. Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses to ensure reports meet client needs. Lead quality control and peer review processes by reviewing and editing SQL of junior report writers. Create test cases and work with QA team to ensure accurate and complete testing. Create technical documentation of report logic and processes. Help create new processes and procedures, and suggest improvements to current processes and procedures. Work with developers and BI analyst to understand code changes that will impact reports. Guide junior report writers in SQL coding and report writing best practices. Support end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query databases and files for report outputs. Develop and assist with report training through the development of training tools and training of key staff. *Requirements:* Minimum 5 to 7 years experience of robust report writing, report development tool usage and business requirements gathering. Experience creating JasperReports or iReports. Ability to communicate business needs to technical staff. Ability to understand customer requirements and design user-friendly reports. Demonstrated use of system application skills that include programming logic, system analysis, system testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and user support. Ability to work independently, and escalate issues and seek guidance as necessary. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
