Job Description
Identify the data critical to its global operations (Enterprise Data) and
to define a higher standard of care for such data. This initiative includes
the anointment and communication of Authoritative Sources of Enterprise
Data and the measurement of compliance to this standard by key control
processes throughout the firm. The initiative is known as *the Enterprise
Data Architecture Program (EDAP).*
A central piece in this program is the Enterprise Metadata Repository,
which will contain information relating to Enterprise Data, processes, and
associated technology within the organization.
As part of* EDAP*, a role exists for a Business Analyst from an investment
banking/financial services background. The successful candidate must have a
proven track record in Business Analysis and experience in large-scale
implementations across front-, middle- and back-office functions.
The main responsibility of the candidate is to work closely with IT system
owners and subject matter experts across all functions and regions to
identify, and facilitate the documentation of, Enterprise Data and its
related data flows. Accuracy and consistency of the documentation is key to
its subsequent usability.
Additional responsibilities will include working with subject matter
experts and members of the *EDAP Analyst* Team to maintain the Enterprise
Data Dictionary (the taxonomy used to describe *Enterprise Data*) to keep
it relevant for business needs; involvement in requirements analysis and
testing; identifying and documenting Authoritative Sources of Enterprise
Data; and analysis in relation to the Data Quality program.
The candidate must have demonstrated an aptitude for overcoming steep
learning curves quickly.
Skills Required
- Extensive experience in Business Analysis across a wide range *of
Investment Banking/Financial Services functions. Prefer the etrade industry*
- *Good understanding of the front-, middle-, and back-office structures
of a trading business*.
- Data Analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work pro-actively and independently within a project
framework.
- Ability to capture and document business requirements from
Stakeholders.
- Ability to apply standards and guidelines to conduct high-quality
reviews of requests submitted to the *Enterprise Data Dictionary team.*
Skills Desired
- Ability to understand Data Models.
- Experience in Metadata gathering projects.
- Experience in using project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
- MS Office skill set.
- SQL (Structured Query Language)
