*Role: COC Senior Java Developer* *Location: Chicago, IL* *Duration : C2H* *Job Description:* Client an Equal Opportunity Employer is looking to hire a Programmer/Analyst. This role will be the primary developer on a web service integration from a point of sale system to an accounts receivable system. The team is currently comprised of a solutions architect and technical business analyst. This person will be responsible for the development, implementation, and unit/integration testing on the project reporting directly to the solutions architect. *Responsibilities include:* - Collaborate with a large team of application specialists supporting our client’s enterprise financial applications. - Develop and unit test de-coupled REST based web services between Applied Payment and Account Receivable systems - Ability to develop using http-based web applications - Functional hands-on use and understanding of XML and WSDL - Recent experience interpreting UML and User Story based use cases to drive development - Ability to translate business requirements into code in compliance with defined development standards including all code documentation. - The ability to work in an agile/scrum or waterfall development methodology - Hands-on experience using eclipse or other integrated development environment platform - Resolve defects in a timely manner (including unit testing) - Active participation in performance tuning across both application and network tiers - Assess and triage issues. Escalating issues to management as appropriate. - Organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. - Participate in cross training and knowledge sharing of best practices within and outside of the team. - Rapidly learn new applications and technologies as new systems are added to CAI’s scope. - Promote team work and effective communication.
