We have a Direct Client Requirement for you and the details are as follows Job Tittle: Capacity & Availability Manager Location: Fort Worth, TX Duration: 6+ month contract (possibility for extension/hire) NOTE: GC/EAD/Citizens only Capacity & Availability Manager will interface with internal Technology Towers, Business Unit Account Teams, vendors, and other groups to develop and report on Capacity Plans. Assume other duties when called upon, although these duties may not be the primary focus of the technical expert and may be short-term in nature. *Responsibilities: * • Understand and deliver IT component or resource-level capacity planning, IT-service-level capacity planning and business capacity planning. • Develop "what if" scenarios to analyze capacity, consolidation opportunities and possible platform synergies. • Assist in planning, managing and implementing system engineering projects as they relate to capacity. • Participate in technical architecture discussions to determine the most-appropriate scalable model, taking into consideration high availability, failover and disaster recovery. • Respond to capacity planning requests for the following hardware platforms: VMware, AIX, Windows, x86, EMC and Netapp Storage, Network WAN utilization reporting and trends. • Work with change and configuration management process managers to develop impact analysis on capacity due to changes. • Work with Account Teams and product managers to understand and assess the impact of business demands and business cycles. Gather future business growth trends and incorporate these trends into capacity models. Use this data and information to work with IT finance for developing chargeback models. • Help establish realistic IT budgets for the IT infrastructure, and develop cost-benefit analysis and cost estimates. • Develop capacity reports for senior management. • Assume a specialization in a particular area, such as servers. • Stay informed of trends and best practices in the performance and capacity planning area. • Work to support key service-level goals, including average response time, mean time to repair, customer satisfaction and customer productivity. • Leverage IT service and support best practices and process frameworks, such as ITIL, to drive continual process improvements. • Develop differentiated capacity plans for systems and applications depending on business risks. • Conduct a review of established capacity planning tools and make recommendations. • Define technical standards and procedures. • Build external relationships with technology providers to enhance service delivery and to optimize infrastructure procurement. • Develop relationships with professional organizations and peer groups in other organizations, and stay current with technology trends and best practices. • Develop models and plans for consolidating and virtualizing infrastructure. *Requirements: * • Education: Bachelor of Computer Science or Network Engineering or Information Technology • 3 years experience in Capacity Management or related field • 7 years industry experience • PERL scripting experience is preferred • Intermediate Microsoft Excel & Access experience • Exposure to Enterprise Data Management technologies/tools (i.e. Netezza, Hadoop, Tableau, etc.) is preferred *Exposure to one or more of the following tools: * • VMWare vCenter Operations Manager (vCOPs) • CIRBA • NetApp onCommand Insight (OCI) • Working knowledge of statistics. • ITIL certification in Capacity Management preferred *-* *Thanks & Best regards,* Suresh| Recruiter|Oberon IT, Inc. 1404 W.
