Role: Classic ASP Developer Location: Pittsburgh, PA (North Shore)
Duration: 12 + Months Classic ASP Developer needed This position sits on the North Shore and is a backfill for one of our consultants. Qualified candidates should have 4+ years experience. This is mid level to senior level. The candidate will work with the web development team that supports the Client internet site of Client.com. The work involves all phases of website development , prototyping, designing, server and client development using standard web technologies, support and training. The role involves equal parts of all phases. The developer will be required to learn and follow the processes the Client.com team follows to make changes to the website. Client.com uses a content management system (Interwoven's Teamsite Content Center) for some of the pages, and about 20% of the changes will be made through the CMS. Training for this CMS will be provided. Technical Knowledge Required: Four years minimum professional work experience is required; with experience designing and developing web sites a must. A link to sample site(s) and/or a portfolio site is required. The candidate must have expertise with web development by coding, not solely using WYSIWYG or GUI interfaces & all coding is done through MS Visual Web Developer. Strong coding ability with the following languages / technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, SQL (preferably MS SQL Server), server-side scripting (classic ASP) , client-side scripting (Javascript and jQuery). Qualified candidates must have experience with SQL Injection a code injection technique, XSS & Cross site scripting, session management login Experience with ASP.Net (VB.Net) is a plus. Familiarity with Windows, MS Outlook, and MS Office products.Familiarity with Content Management Systems, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat is a plus, but is not a requirement. Other skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate in English, as this is the official language for Client business. Other language skills are a plus. The candidate must be professional, as the candidate will be working in Client US headquarters. Must be able to work in a team environment. The work can be very fast-paced, with tight deadlines. Ability to follow directions. There are very specific administrative procedures to follow for each update to the website. Client.com website is tightly audited, and developers must follow a rigid methodology. Attention to detail.
