*Duration: 1 year*
The tasks for the VB Programmer include, but are not limited to, the
following:
Consultant shall provide expert programmer analyst services for PBS
(Premium Billing System) relating to VB, VB6, C#, HP-UNIX, Oracle RDMS, DB2
RDMS and Sybase at State Fund and consult to IT Management, projects, and
staff. The scope of consultant duties includes, but is not limited to, the
following:
Able to communicate effectively with users at all levels
Provide analysis of user requirements to fix production problems and
enhance existing systems
Produce detailed system documentation and work with team through design
and code walkthroughs and provide technical support for issues they are
resolving.
Create approved new applications, and diagnose and repair production
application program problems, and develop enhancements to these systems as
assigned
Create and monitor application interfaces, and monitor data interchange
sessions
State Fund, at their discretion, can utilize Consultant resource in any
capacity to meet the needs of State Fund. Consultant resources may be
assigned by State Fund to lead teams, work independently, work on teams
lead by State Fund, Consultant resources or, teams lead by other consulting
firms.
Tasks
The Consultant tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze of system design problems and suggest alternative
designs/solutions
Develop project plans with detailed tasks as requested by the manager
Gather business requirements and/or bug fixes from the user community
Convert the user requirements into functional and technical
specifications
Code programs as per the technical specifications and unit testing
Document programming work effectively with process flow diagrams
Provide Production Support as needed or required
Work independently, as a member of a team or as a lead of a team as
required by State Fund
Perform approved maintenance to continue business viability of the
mainframe applications
Diagnose and repair production application program problems (or create
enhancements)
Follow internal SDLC methodologies in the creation of test plans
