*Job Title* Teradata DBA *Project Location* San Francisco CA *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *Teradata DBA* Responsibilities: - Perform hands-on database, object, profile creation where appropriate. - Define and implement priority scheduler to minimize impact of mixed workloads on same host. - Help define application performance baselines on Teradata, identify and implement tuning recommendations to help improve performance and scalability. - Work with application implementation teams to recommend best practices for object creation, minimizing data skew, recommend appropriate primary index selection. - Review use and implementation of Teradata utilities to load and move data between databases and systems (Fastload, FastExport, Multiload, TPump). - Add statistics or indexes to improve query performance without degrading ETL process. - System availability - Work with Teradata to resolve problems, outages or slowdowns. Plan, test and implement new versions of software. - Security – perform user management, maintenance and auditing. - Provide proactive first-response to system generated alerts (such as capacity & system availability), and ad-hoc user requests. - Work closely with IT and business partners to provide solution definition to new and ongoing business requirements. - Contribute to, and update systems documentation as required. - Participate in 24x7 support rotation. Requirements: - Strong Data Architecture experience for EDW applications. - Minimum 5 years experience in a Teradata Database Administrator role. - Experience with Enterprise Integration project(s). - Proven experience in optimizing the Teradata environment, ideally having PPI, priority scheduler experience. - Sound working knowledge of Teradata tools - Fastload, Multiload, TPump, FastExport. - Backup and recovery expertise. - User security management and auditing - Teradata certification. - Experience with Microstrategy, AbInitio and Retail experience a plus -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Citrix and Sap problems" group.
