As the Storage Engineer you will provide storage administration and support
on various storage platforms. You will be responsible for communicating
statuses to team and management regarding work and project status.
*Primary Responsibilities*
- Configure, test, monitor and troubleshoot backups
- Perform restores as necessary, including full system, incremental, or
single file restores
- Create, modify and troubleshoot shell scripts involved in
backup/restore processes.
- Plan and execute cross-storage migrations
- Work with storage vendors to fix various storage bugs
- Coordinate upgrades to hardware, backup, monitoring, administration
software tool and associated implementation and documentation
- System monitoring for backup success, capacity planning, and
performance
- Design, augment or improve disaster recovery processes
*Required Qualifications*
· Bachelor’s degree and 7+years of experience as a system or
storage engineer or equivalent experience and/or training
· 6-8 years of experience with the following:
* hp9500
*iSCSI, Fiber Channel,
*NAS and SAN architectures
*Brocade DCX-4 SAN fabric switch, Cisco SAN, FC Technology
· Must have a clear working understanding of RAID and the standard
RAID levels
· Must have a clear working understanding or network services and
storage protocols (HTTP, DNS, FTP, NFS, CIFS, SMB)
· Advanced understanding of data security and forensics
· Experience with storage vendors (NetApp, EMC, Dell, HP, IBM)
· Experience with Networker backups and restores required
· Experience with Pure Storage a plus
