Send me resumes at <[email protected]> Senior PI/ABAP Developer Location: Wilton, CT Brief Description: The Senior PI/ABAP Developer will provide SAP PI technical configuration, design, development, implementation and support within SAP PI 7.1. Provide Integration between SAP applications and other third Party systems. Respond to critical situations, identify problems and apply appropriate resolutions. Collaborate with support teams, business and technical community. Work with technical and functional teams to determine strategy and plans for SAP implementations and upgrades. Provide senior level ABAP programming support for projects, upgrades, and operational support. Essential Functions -PI - Will work as part of a team with IT Business Systems Analysts, Technical Developers and Infrastructure teams to design, document and develop interfaces between enterprise business systems, such as Manugistics, R&D, Red Prairie, TPM, TMS as well as other complementary non-SAP systems, using SAP PI 7.1 and related technologies. - Various File Transfer Scenarios - File to File (FTP, SFTP) - JBDC to Idoc - File to ABAP proxy - RFC to WEB services (SOAP) - ESR Service Registry and modeling up to release 7.1 or greater - Configuration and implementation of various Adapters such as Seeburger, Advantco - File Adapters - IDOC Adapters - RFC - HTTP - JDBC - ABAP Proxy - Mail Adapters - Troubleshooting expertise using RWB and other tools - SXMB_MONI - SXMB_MONI_BPE - SXI Cache - SPROXY - Alert Configuration - Categories - Rules - Ability to manage and drive PI upgrade projects - Ability to architect and develop End To End solutions - Must understand networking topology and implications to PI processing - Establishes integration best practices and will ensure any interfaces developed are secure, reliable and scalable. Documents all interface developments and adhere to Sun IT Change and Release Management process. - Contribute ideas and recommendations to the continuous improvement process of the ERP team and participates in and leads team learning sessions to expand overall team knowledge. Essential Functions -ABAP - Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solutions. - Develop and test solutions using established SDLC methodology. - Work on multiple projects simultaneously successfully through planning and prioritization. - Prioritize and manage work assigned for projects and support. - Coordinate with Basis team to optimize custom programs and processes to improve system performance and prevent system interruptions. - Provide ABAP technical support for patch and release upgrades. - Document and maintain a solution portfolio and identify opportunities for solution re-use. - Researches and utilizes new programming techniques and methods where appropriate. - Identifies opportunities to re-engineer existing solutions to better utilize technology, optimize performance, and simplify support. - Manage and coordinate work of consultants when necessary. - Stay current with technical products, practices and methodologies that are relevant for the applications being supported. - Execute all testing methodologies of software implementations. - Share knowledge and applications across multiple businesses and IT groups. - Adhere to the Company’s quality and regulatory compliance requirements, without exception, and ensures that all job duties inherent in the position are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. - Develop and implement best practice programming standards that meet regulatory compliance requirements.
