This includes working as a team member with client personnel (customer facing) to identify functional and non-functional requirements and subsequently working with or in some instances leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. Participates in a wide range of design activities, from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. This position requires knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures. Adaptable and flexible to work environment including, but not limited to, out of town travel as required to meet business commitments and working overtime, as business needs may require, handling multiple tasks concurrently, and easily adapting to new assignments *Skill Required/Level * *Skill* *Description* 1 Apply Architectural Thinking Apply sound, creative, and innovative architectural thinking to enhance and expand the implementation of architectural principles, practices, and concepts to meet the business intent or the delivery of solutions 5 2 Perform Architectural Leadership Perform as a leader, providing architectural knowledge, direction, and leadership to guide the team to perform the work to completion. 5 3 Perform IT Infrastructure Architecture Assessment Given an existing infrastructure architecture, use a defined set of criteria to evaluate the infrastructure architecture -- its components and their properties, the relationships among those components, and how they interact 5 4 Plan Architectural Aspects of Project Develop the approach and plans for architectural engagements and ensure that the approach and plans for delivery of the architecture are driven from and supported by the defined architecture 5 5 Communications Articulate concepts, ideas and suggestions through the use of proper language so others may comprehend the message being communicated. Explain things in a simple relevant way. 5 6 Perform Solution Assessments Assess the integrity and risks inherent in a proposed solution against the underlying business intent so that the recommendations and findings are appropriate, were acceptable to the client, and can be implemented. 5 7 Develop/Document Architectural Decisions Determine, document, and communicate architectural decisions to support and rationalize the solution. Knowledge of Visio and Experience using TOGAF/Zachman Architecture Framework a plus 5 8 Manage Architectural Risk Identify the elements of a project that put the integrity of the architecture at risk and manage those elements to the successful completion of the project. 5 9 WAN/LAN/SAN Network Technologies Knowledge of Optical Carrier Point-to-point circuit speeds, MPLS, FCIP, copper and fiber LAN technologies, physical cabling and infrastructure to support heterogeneous network technologies 3 10 Data and Image Replication Knowledge of Storage and System(Mainframe/iSeries, Windows, AIX, Solaris,VMWare image) migration such as: rsync, flar, mksysb, SRDF, Global Mirror, VMWare DRM, MIMIX, Doubletake, Platespin, EMC SRDF 3 11 WAN Optimization Knowledge of vendor offerings such as Riverbed Steelhead,Qlogic and Cisco DMM 3 12 Data Center Build Knowledge of power sizing, rack sizing, and physical infrastructure build out. 5 13 Space Planning/ELE Ability to transform the logical design requirements into work request.
