Contract to hire after 6 months ( CTH is must ) Application/Network Support The Application suite to be supported sits in the data path of Verizon Wireless. Since all the Verizon wireless data flows through it. It is a mission critical application and expectation is of a 100% uptime. It has a load balanced fault tolerant architecture to support the uptime requirements. The hardware platform is consisted of n/w and computing processors and has blade architecture. The application suite itself is based on Linux operating system. It uses Diameter protocol and Rest APIs. Responsibilities • Be part of the 24x7 Tier 2 support team working in shifts. Initial requirement is to support evening and night shifts 1. Thorough Knowledge of network protocol message flows (TCP/IP, HTTP) 2. Use of network protocol debugging tools such as tcpdump, wireshark. 3. Scripting experience is a PLUS: shell, Perl. Ability to automate tasks, create reports. 4. Programming languages will be desirable. E.g. Java as the Applications is written in Java on Linux. 5. Linux Operating system awareness, knowledge of commands. No need for knowing multiple flavors of Linux. Working hours details: - It is not a night shift job alone. The job has 2 shifts to offer: Evening Shift (4 PM to 1 AM) and Night Shift (12 midnight to 9 AM).
