*Position: Big Data Administrator* *Redwood City - Bay Area – Local Candidates * *Long term Contract* *Rate – Market * US CITIZEN or GREEN CARD AND H1B *Job description * · Proven experience as a system administrator for following key big data technologies: *Hadoop, HDFS, Mapreduce, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka* · Automate operation, installation and monitoring of different components in open source infrastructure stack · Hands on expertise on Linux, Unix and scripting skills will be beneficial. · Troubleshoot, debug and recover from run-time cluster issues · Handling infrastructure operations with 250+ nodes storing petabytes of compressed data across multiple data centres · Strong communication, technology awareness and capability to interact work with senior technology leaders is a must. · Perform feature evaluations/POC/implementations and help clients’ core enterprise Big data organization build and maintain next-generation data platform · Document all production scenarios, issues and resolutions Must have · 5+ years of engineering operations experience, including a minimum of 1.5 years of Hadoop experience · Strong Linux administration experience · Expertise in building, maintaining and tuning clusters · Automated cluster and configuration deployments using Puppet · Knowledge of open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, OpenTSDB · Passionate about working with open source technologies Nice to have · Knowledge of Storm operations · Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Bash *K.M.
