*Build Engineer, Location: Columbus, OH* Terms: 4 Months + Extensions
Job Description: Client, a leading provider of on-demand IT consulting and recruiting services, has an immediate need for a Build Engineer to work on 4 month+ contract in Columbus, OH. Basic Qualifications: •5+ years of experience as a Build or Build/Release Engineer with software configuration management expertise in build/test/deploy. •Ant, Shell, and Perl Scripting experience. •Familiar with code management tools such as Subversion or Git. Requirements and Responsibilities: •For onboarding existing application, perform knowledge transfer from Development team to SCM team on build and deployment processes •For new applications, work with development to get the requirements of the application build and deployment process •Once the KT process is complete from the development team, build engineer role is to write build and deployment scripts according to SCM team standards and processes to IST, QA, Performance and Production environments •After complete of the development scripts and process setups, build engineer role is expected to build and deployment to all of the environments noted above on a weekly process •Build engineer is required to build/perform smoke and sanity tests for the applications deployed and also troubleshoot the application for issues that arise during smoke tests •Build engineer is expected to learn the architecture of all the applications to support troubleshooting •Build engineer needs to periodically analyze the hardware and software of build infrastructure and provide recommendations to management •Build engineer is required to be proficient in Ant, Shell and Perl Scripting.
