NO H1b's* *Details: * Investment Bank Chicago Contract Until 12/31/2015 (likely extended) Experienced application developer. Experience with the following DBMS and technical skills are a MUST HAVE: DBMS: Sybase, Oracle *TECHNICAL SKILLS:* ETL Tool (DataStage), UNIX, SQL, PL/SQL Shell, Script, C, Unix Mainframe skills are a plus. *SKILLS:* - Oracle and Sybase SQL coding skills, to include writing Sybase stored procedures or Oracle packages. Must be able to code new PL/SQL proc and debug/modify existing procs. - Familiarity with Sybase bcp or SQL*Loader utility and formatted files. Familiarity with ANSI SQL and Sybase stored procedures are required. - UNIX scripting skills are a must. Must be able to code Shell scripts in ksh/csh. Have a fair understanding on awk, sed and other edit command in Unix. - Must Know Unix and have a basic understanding of Unix systems. Must be able to use vi (unix editor). - Communication skills will be key. - ETL development is a must. Developer must know either DataStage. - Developer should be able to take HLBR or DBR and create a GTD or DTD. And be ready to discuss the technical approach with the team. - Must know how to read C programs. No new C development is required but a basic understanding of C is a plus. - Knowledge of Control-M or another scheduler is a Must. GENERAL SUMMARY: Require an individual that is strong in Unix, Oracle PL/SQL and ETL skills. Individual must have prior experience in supporting batch systems that uses a variety of technology in their batch jobs. Position requires the individual to understand the existing batch flow and be willing to learn how the various pieces fit together. The position requires that the individual be ready to code new enhancements to the existing system using either Oracle PL/SQL or DataStage jobs and fit the new code into the existing batch system. Position requires that new procedures or ETL jobs be coded to enhance functionality of the ERM system. Which tool is utilized depends on the requirement or the general consensus on the team. Individual must willing to work with the team and provide / take guidance on how to best implement an enhancement, whether it’s through a PL/SQL script or a DataStage job. Thorough knowledge of SQL, Unix Scripting, and DataStage (or ETL tool) are key. Understanding batch schedulers (control-m or autosys) is necessary.
