Hope you are doing great… *Job Title: **Deployment Manager with Retail background* *Location: **Phoenix, Arizona* *Duration: Contract or FT* Deployment Manager or PM with Retail background *The main purpose of this role:* The Deployment Manager is accountable for leading the transition in the project’s execution phase into production or the rollout of the system in the field. This involves the following: · Analyze and document the deployment risks and risk mitigation strategies to protect the integrity of the production environment. · Assemble all steps and processes needed to create the implementation plan. o The PM is accountable for the plan. But based on project needs, it can be delegated to the DM. · Manage the deployment by leading the project team, business resources, vendor resources and IT support resources to take part in the implementation. (Can also include the field services deployment role). o If there is no DM assigned, the PM will be responsible. · Coordinate the steps with the project team to successfully update or upgrade the Development, QA (including eCert) and production environments. · Facilitate applications and non-data center infrastructure transition to the support teams. o BTL is responsible for the data center and server infrastructure deployment. · Assist the PM/BSA with managing vendor software/hardware evaluation and procurement for backstage and retail deployments. *Key Changes / Clarifications to the Role:* · If there is no dedicated DM on the project, the TL (or a TL delegated resource) will assume some or all of the DM activities. · The DM (working with the TL) is responsible for ensuring the application areas of the RunBook are completed. · The DM is responsible for facilitating the Software / Hardware deployment and the transition process to the support groups. This includes creating the "CSS Planning Phase Support Assessment" (replacing the Deployment Plan), Implementation (Hour by Hour) Plan, Installation Document and the support transition plan. *Core Responsibility Areas:* · The DM is responsible for creating the detailed deployment/implementation schedule based on input from the project team, customers and stakeholders. The PM is responsible for the overall project schedule. · Early in the project, work with the Project team, CSS (Customer Service and Support) and the Infrastructure Services teams to determine the support and support transition required. This is done early in the project. · Define, assess, plan and organize the deployment/rollout with customers and stakeholders. o Evaluate, mitigate and manage the installation risk that could interrupt the business. o Document the risks, issues, back out plans, risk mitigation, notification and escalations. · Engage and coordinate with LLD (IT Training) and the business with any new training created for IT and end users. · Create, track and manage the Change Tickets and RIT’s for the deployment. · Create and manage a detailed and comprehensive deployment rollout plan. o Schedule the resources for the deployment / rollout. § Note: Field Services will take care of the resources for a retail rollout. o Rollout and distribution mechanisms are planned to ensure the integrity of the installation. § Software rollout methods: Changmen DS, Changeman ZMF, HPCA, Avalanche and Dimensions. § DM handles non data center hardware rollout. BTL handles the Data Center hardware rollouts. o Work with the project team to ensure the installation documentation is created and validated. o Ensure that a back out process is also created, tested, verified and documented. · Review and test the plans with mock deployments to Dev and QA environments (including Retail eCert.). o Record and manage the deployment defects, risks and issues for follow up. · Accountable for scheduling and managing the implementation go live period. o The PM is accountable for the overall schedule. DM takes care of the actual details. o Assist the PM to facilitate IOC meeting and get the go live approval from the Project team sponsors. · Manage, document and monitor the post implementation results and reviews. o Hold a deployment lessons learned meeting with the project team.
